marine jewelry for modern mythmakers
MARAGILD was born in July 2025 on the beaches of Fort Morgan, Alabama, when creator Amanda Gibson first picked up a few curious shells and bones and imagined them around her neck, gleaming in gold. What began as a creative experiment quickly became a way of transforming the wild, arresting beauty of Gulf Coast marine life into wearable art.

Crabs rely on a hardened exoskeleton to protect their vulnerable vital organs. Their claws function as tools, capable of grasping, cutting, and defending their territory.
The Karina Collection gathers these talismans of agency—crab claws and carapaces—to serve as a reminder that strength and tenderness can coexist in the same body.

Barnacles survive through permanent attachment. They cement themselves to a chosen surface, thickening their shells to withstand constant impact and exposure.
Each piece in the Brinelle Collection—barnacle forms built through adhesion and accumulation—serves as a talisman of tenacity and a reminder of our commitment to what sustains us.

Artifact rather than accessory, MARAGILD is wearable art—coastal treasures transformed to capture both the wild power of the sea and the ephemeral nature of the gifts the tide bestows.
A portion of all profits will be donated to Gulf Coast conservation, helping to protect the very shores that inspire each piece.

Born in Brooklyn to Southern parents and raised just outside Boston, Amanda grew up vacationing at her family home on Fort Morgan, Alabama, a connection that proved too strong to ignore. In 2008, she moved from Montana to Mobile, Alabama, to pursue a graduate degree in creative writing.
Today, Amanda is a writer and advertising copywriter whose work centers on stories that connect people and place. She writes fiction, food essays, and nature-inspired nonfiction, with current projects including a book about birds and a magical realism novel rooted in family history.
Inspired by her deep ties to the Gulf and a lifelong fascination with marine life, what began as a creative experiment has evolved into MARAGILD, a coastal jewelry line that celebrates and seeks to protect the region’s wild beauty.

Each one-of-a-kind piece is crafted from foraged coastal specimens, fortified with resin, cured in sunlight, and gilded by hand.
Nothing here is cast from a mold. Each one carries the story of
its first life.
You decide its second.

Because MARAGILD transforms the sea’s gifts, a portion of monthly sales is donated to coastal conservation organizations—a small gesture of care for the waters and wildlife we treasure.
Thank you for helping return a little kindness to the coast.
